I Paint a Dreamspace

You may remember from my last post that I am taking a new direction in painting. I want to give dreamlike qualities to my works and to include an animal in each one. Each animal is a daimon. Of course these are all good daimons (as you may remember).

NEW WORK

Some museums don’t allow animals to enter their galleries. Many allow only service animals. This dream museum allows all kinds of animals, including companion animals and daimons!

What kind of dreamspace would you like to paint or, if you don’t paint, to see in a painting? It should be a space where daimons are permitted!

The tiny painting Cousins was commissioned by the little girl’s mother. The two boys are brothers, and the girl is their cousin. They all love being together.

Painting three figures in a 6x6-inch area was challenging, but it was a lot of fun!

WORK FROM THE PAST

In 1989 my daughter’s dear friend Sarah went on a trip with us to St. Augustine. I cannot imagine how she sat still long enough for me to draw her from life!

IN OTHER NEWS

I was happy to hear the news that my painting Ice Dream Café was accepted into the 2024 Biennial Juried Exhibition put on by the Tennessee Watercolor Society. Because this is my third acceptance into a TnWS exhibition, I am now a Signature Member of the Society. I really like the heavy glass plaque they gave me. Hooray!
